The average price of second-hand housing in Spain reached 1,526 euros per square meter in April, down 0.41% from March and a decrease of 1.67% compared to the same month last year.
In the monthly report of pisos.com, the most expensive regions in April 2017 were Basque Country (2,615 euros per square meter), Baleares (2,272 euros) and Madrid (2,015 euros), and the cheapest, Castilla-La Mancha 899 euros), Extremadura (1,084 euros) and Murcia (1,158 euros).
The most striking increases were recorded in the Balearic Islands (+ 6.83%), the Canary Islands (+ 4.2%) and the Community of Valencia (+ 1.81%), with the most intense adjustments in the Basque Country (-8.12 %), Castilla-La Mancha (-7.91%) and Castilla y León (-7.22%).
For the provinces, the highest increases from one year to the next were located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (+ 12.38%), Malaga (+ 8.57%) and Las Palmas (+ 6.88%). The most pronounced declines were in Almería (-10.78%), A Coruña (-10.5%) and Cáceres (-9.77%).
